jelly - きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ

This is the last track on the mini-album. It's a Capsule cover, which I didn't find out until today. I knew one of the tracks was a cover of someone, but not which one. When I first heard this song I thought it sounded an awful lot like Baby Cruising Love (by Perfume), but it turns out it's the other way around ;D

Japanese lyrics here.

This was the hardest song on the album to translate.

jelly - Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

I was convinced.

Not dreaming seems better.

It's trembling, the jiggly, bright red jelly.

I lost my way in this place.

I found what I was looking for, but no matter

how much I ask for it, I can't have it

I'm convinced.

It's a coincidence,

but surely we're made for each other, is what I'd say [1]

I just don't have the confidence.

I was convinced it would go bad right away.

It's always like that, but that's how it is.

I'm convinced it's a matter of course. [2]

Not dreaming seems better.

It's trembling, the jiggly, bright red jelly.

If you untie the ribbon on that little bottle

and take off the silver lid...

Notes:

[1] Since she says "そんな僕は" in the next line, it must be her saying this sentence. I originally had this translated as someone else saying it, sort of like, "It's a coincidence, but you'd say it's natural." That doesn't work, though, so I think....maybe....this way makes it clearer. I could be wrong.

[2] This too was sort of tricky. 当然 in general, in this song, kind of tricky. And 思い込む. It seems like each one has a few nuances that kind of change the meaning in important ways depending on what you go with.
